don't lose hopePromises of God,

“But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.”

It happens to everyone. We get tired and feel like quitting. Our happiest moments dissipate; our energy suddenly dissolves; our excitement over accomplishing something or being committed to something is gone; we still have a dream but we’ve lost motivation to achieve it. The good news is that we can get the desire and motivation back and be renewed. Our God can cause hope to abound in our heart and with hope, desire and motivation will return. “But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.”

There was a time we were without Christ, without God, without a covenant, without promises, and without hope in this world. That time of having no hope is gone. We have hope because we have promises; we have promises because we have a covenant with God; we have a covenant with God because we have the Blood of Jesus Ephesians 2:12, 13. Quitting only brings relief from responsibility; fighting the fight of faith can bring the kind of victory that relieves everything 1 John.5:4. Go to His promises and you will find hope beyond this natural world. If God hasn’t told you to quit, then don’t quit; find the way forward.

After Momo Walde won the gold medal in the marathon at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City in 1968, the stadium emptied with only a few people remained. One hour after the close of the race, a little known Tanzanian runner, John Stephen Akhwari entered the Olympic stadium. Wounded after a fall and carrying a dislocated knee, he hobbled to the finish line. When asked why he did not quit, he replied, “My country did not send me 5000 miles to start the race. They sent me 5000 miles to finish the race.” Jesus hasn’t sent us here to just start our race but to finish it.
