Grace is the finished work of God in Christ Jesus for us. It is what God has already done and initiated in a move toward us. It goes back to the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Before time in eternity past He saw our need, He looked ahead and made provision for what we would face. We can sometimes feel like we’ve been forsaken, left behind, and overlooked. This is especially true when it seems like God is silent, when we cannot sense His presence. This is when we have to go by what we know and believe instead of what we feel. God has already moved in grace to make help (Heb. 4:16), enabling power (1 Cor. 15:10), and a sufficiency of strength (2 Cor. 12:9) accessible to us.
Salvation gave us access to grace (Rm. 5:2) and there are DELIVERY SYSTEMS which deliver this grace to our need. We can access the grace from His Word, His Spirit, prayer or going to the throne of grace, the grace in a ministry gift, and the grace in believers we assemble with. We have options.
1. GOD’S WORD
Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
2. GOD’S SPIRIT
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
3. PRAYER AND GOD’S THRONE
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts (gifts of grace) unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
5. CHURCH OR ASSEMBLING WITH THE BODY OF CHRIST
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
