John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Man started with a river (Gen. 2:10) and ends with a river (Rev. 22:1). In the Garden of Eden, God had a river that parted into four tributary rivers (Gen. 2:10-14). In the first creation, God also put man in the Garden giving him seed and dominion. We know man sinned and got kicked out. The Good News is in the 2nd creation (2 Cor. 5:17), God put the garden in man (1Cor. 3:9), gave him seed & dominion and put the river in the man. In this New Creation the devil got kicked out. In the New Creation because of the day of redemption has come through Jesus, according to John 7:37-39: – The rivers are in us. – The rivers are living water (moving; life giving). – The rivers flow out of our innermost beings. – The rivers flow from the Holy Ghost. Notice it says “rivers” and not river implying more than one flowing. Here’s four flows of the rivers of the Spirit: 1. Edification – Jude 20. 2. Illumination- 1 Corinthians 2:9, 10. 3. Manifestation – 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. 4. Intercession (prayer) – Romans 8:26, 27; 1 Corinthians 14:14 -16.
