Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath BLESSED us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath CHOSEN us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having PREDESTINATED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved. 7 In whom we have REDEMPTION through his blood, the FORGIVENESS of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath ABOUNDED toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
God’s love for us can be seen by how He has abounded toward us through the riches of His grace:
We are blessed – no longer cursed; now we are favored and empowered to prosper.
We are chosen – picked out; selected; and He was pleased to have us (the good pleasure of His will).
We are predestinated – predetermined to be placed in His family as His fully vested children with all rights and privileges.
We are accepted – endued with special honor; highly favored.
We are redeemed – ransomed in full; released; delivered
We are forgiven – pardon; freedom; remission
All of this was God abounding toward us in His grace. The word abound means- to be in excess; to superabound; enough and to spare; excel; to be more abundant; to remain over and above. Thank God for His love and the exceeding riches of His grace.
